The Broadway’s Little Shops of Horrors

As darkness falls over The Broadway on Halloween, be sure to look out for witches, wizards, ghosts and ghouls of Plymstock! You might have found the perfect outfit in Peacocks, New Look, or Poundland but have you made these monstrous treats? Why not share them with visiting trick or treaters?

Step 1

To make your spooktactular treats, we recommend popping in to see our friends at Fruit and Veg for a punnet of strawberries, Martin’s for bars of chocolate and Poundland for mini choc chips as we hear they’re a witch’s favourite.

Step 2

With an adult’s help, melt the chocolate in the microwave or over a bowl of nearly boiling water.

Step 3

Place a large piece of greaseproof paper on to a flat surface.

Step 4

Dip strawberries into the melted chocolate, remove and allow the excess to pour off on to the greaseproof paper to create the trembling tail of the ghost. Then place the strawberries on to the paper to dry.

Step 5

Before your chocolate has set, place 3 chocolate chips on to the strawberry to create the eyes and mouth.

Step 6

Serve your ghostly ghouls to trick or treaters or leave as a surprise in the kitchen – be careful though as they may mysteriously disappear!
