Feeling Festive at The Broadway

29th October 2018

Christmas is coming to Plymstock on Wednesday 21st November with The Broadway’s Christmas Extravaganza Lights Switch On, in association with Radio Plymouth.

Join us for a memorable evening of entertainment and the lights will be switched on at 6:30pm. Warm up with a hot drink or a tasty bite to eat. It’s a perfect place to do a spot of shopping.

There will be live performances from a host of local artists, appearances from the Plymouth Party Princesses and shoppers will be able to enjoy a wealth of activities for the whole family, including free festive face painting. There will also be an extensive Christmas market with more than 25 stalls showcasing their artisan gifts and catering for any festive shopping needs. From decorations and cards to presents and seasonal fayre. Shoppers will also be able to take advantage of special Christmas opening hours that will be announced here on the website closer to the time.

Centre Manager, Mark Berry said “our Christmas Lights Switch On event is enormously popular, with around 14,000 people joining us each year to mark the start of their seasonal celebrations. This year’s line up is a fantastic celebration of local trade and talent. We look forward to welcoming all of our guests, for what promises to be a fun-filled festive event.

Tricia Duff, Managing Director at Radio Plymouth, added “the Broadway Plymstock’s Christmas Light Switch On Extravaganza is one of our favourite events of the year. Over the last seven years we have been involved we have really seen the whole community coming together for the celebration and the atmosphere is always electric.”

There will also be more festive family events on The Broadway this Christmas. On Saturday 8th December Santa will be visiting The Broadway between 12 noon and 2pm. Be sure to pop down and see Santa. Bring along your Christmas lists and see if you’re on his ‘naughty or nice’ list.

On Wednesday 12th December, Radio Plymouth will be at the Centre providing the sound track to your Christmas shopping with a selection of local choirs, singers and musicians.

The fun will kick off from 3:30pm on Wednesday 21st November and will run right up until Christmas – make sure you don’t miss out!
